Why I Like Ubuntu

I like Ubuntu, should wear the t-shirt but I am not going to. I recommend Ubuntu to any body who has the slightest interest in an alternative to Windows. I do my best to push it and convince people that this is the version of Linux they should try. Why you ask? Let me explain …

Ubuntu can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. Simple statement and the most accurate I think.

If you are a casual user you can, with no problems, install and run a Linux based operating system. All applications are easy to install, especially with the latest version of Ubuntu (at the time of posting this was version 8.10). Ubuntu comes with stacks of free applications that will keep you entertained for hours on end, and when you have exhausted the list on the machine, you can extend the list of applications with a few clicks.

Due to the huge surge in popularity for Ubuntu, there is always plenty of community support for almost every problem you're likely to encounter either using Google search or the Ubuntu Forums.

Ubuntu is FULLY customizable from simple themes to complete control over every single aspect of your desktop.

If you wish to get more hands on you can access the terminal (command prompt for Windows users) and make things as complicated as you want.
